How do I sell equipment online?

3. Create your advert with the simple online form
4. Pay for your advert using WorldPay or by invoice

How do I buy equipment online?

Method of payment is mutually agreed between buyer and seller. Whether you decide to invoice the buyer, payment via BACS or payment on delivery.

How do I advertise to find equipment?

The Wanted Section will be coming soon and it works in the same way as advertising the equipment you have for sale.
You create an advert describing exactly what you are looking for, you can also upload a photo. Instead of ticking the 'item for sale' checkbox you tick the 'wanted' tickbox. Ideal for looking for an old model or outdated item, second-hand, etc.

What is the member's area?

This area becomes available once you are registered.

In this area you have full control over the advertising of your equipment, you can view your advert history and update your contact details.
Your advert histiry is retained for your records and can be used as templates for you to quickly create adverts for similar items.
You can edit and update your adverts content, category, price, photo and even contact details per advert.

You can see the dates that your adverts start and are due to finish or have finished. Once your advert finishes you can re-list it quickly and easily by the click of a mouse.

The active option enables you to quickly enable or disable your advert from view on the website. This helps you to remove your item from display when you have secured a sale or received contact regarding a wanted item.

How do I contact buyers and sellers?

We leave the options open to you; we respect your privacy and realise that each company or individual is different. We have therefore created a system where you control your communication.

Prospective buyers need to register in order to use the online email facility to contact buyers and sellers. This discourages time wasters and ensures you retain your privacy.

You choose whether you wish to list your phone numbers within your advert. We appreciate that you may not want to be bombarded by phone calls and wish to reply to emails only.
Each advert can be tailored individually for you to designate different contact names and numbers for different items listed.

Once you reply to a contact via email from ChillTrader your email becomes visible to the recipient.

How do I search for equipment?

All items listed on ChillTrader are fully searchable for all 'live' adverts.

You can use the search facility at the top of every screen to enter keywords or item numbers. The information you enter is matched not only against the advert titles but also the detailed description.

Results that are returned can be sorted by model, title, quanitiy or price.

What about privacy?

We respect your privacy and have ensured that this also applies to website visitors as we manage communication in a responsible way. You have the ability to decide which communication method you wish to use between yourself and a prospective buyer or seller, per advert.

By retaining your phone details you can communicate strictly via email where your email address is only revealed when you decide to reply to an email. Users also need to register with us before they are able to use the contact seller facility, this reduces the element of timewasters.

How do I create an advert?

Once registered, login to ChillTrader and go to your members area and click on 'create advert'.

Simply complete the online form to create your advert, we have also included a spell checker for your convenience.

How do I update my adverts?

Once registered, login to ChillTrader and go to your members area and click on 'edit' by the advert you wish to modify. We have also included a spell checker for your convenience.

How do I manage my adverts?

Once registered, login to ChillTrader and go to your members area and you can manage the;

- content
- enable/disable the display of your advert
- start/end dates
- re-list facility for advert that have finished
- history of all your adverts are retained for your records

Uploading photos

You can upload your photos to a maximum size of 350kb.

We accept image formats of jpg, gif or png.

Digital cameras usually default to an image format of jpg. When taking photos of your equipment please change your cameras settings to a low resolution to keep your image file within ChillTrader's maximum size. Please consult your cameras user guide for further details.

We automatically resize the images for thumbnails on our listing page and within the detailed description on each advert to approx 200 pixels width. We also provide a zoom image size within the detailed description of 400 pixels width when clicked on.

Please not that pixel height is worked out automatically depending on image attributes.

Banner advertising

If you wish to add your company or product banner with a direct link to the web page please contact us and we will contact you regarding cost, placement and technical details.

We monitor all banner links on our website and can supply you with statistics regarding the hit rate.

Methods of payment

There are 2 ways in which you can pay for your adverts;

1. Online payments via WorldPay - we also email a receipt for your records
2. Invoicing via email

If you wish to pay by invoice only you need to contact us and we will send you an account creation form which you need to complete and return to us..
